A scene that plays a huge part in the series in when Frodo was part of two meetings. The reason why is because the two scenes are about Frodo himself. The first meeting was quite small only only a handful of new characters were introduced. This meeting was not that special as they only talked about what was going on like in page 256. It reads, "Throughout the rest of the meal they talked together, but Frodo listened more that he spoke; for news of the Shire, apart from the Ring, seemed small and far-away and unimportant, while Golin had much to tell of events in the northern regions of Wilderland." This tells us that the meeting wasn't that big, but we got introduced to more characters that will help Frodo. After that Frodo goes to a Council meeting (the meeting is for the Council of Elrond.) During this meeting, more characters are introduced to the story and this meeting talks about the history if the ring. In page 272 it reads, "They all listened while Elrond in his clear voice spoke of Sauron and the Rings of power, and their forging in the Second Age." This tells us that the meeting was mostly about the Ring and now the main characters know more about what they are up against. With all that said, with a lot new characters introduced and the fact that more about the Ring was discovered, I believe that something major is going to happen and will probably change the direction of the book.
